今週から授業開始だったのだがずっとガイダンスで授業らしいことはほとんどしなかった。
おまけに普通は1時間半ある講義が説明終わったからという訳で30分ほどで終わることが多く暇つぶすのが大変だった。
暇つぶしも大変だったがもっと大変なのがキャンパス内の地理だ。
うちの大学は都内にあるにしては広く、そして建物の数もかなり多く道も入り組んでいてかなり迷う。
おまけに建物の名前が西3号館などとついているが、
1から順に並んで建っているのではなくバラバラにありやがるので余計わからなくなる。
おまけにその中に研究所がまぎれている始末だ。
私も友人と南1号館に行こうとして極低温物性研究センターなる所についてしまった。
よりによってその日は前日から気温がかなり下がった日だっただけに余計寒々しかった。
さらに坂だらけで高低差が結構あるので地上から入ったつもりがそこは3階だったり逆に地下1階だったりするビックリハウスになっている。
本館にいたっては先輩などにも迷路と言われている始末だ。
おかげで2回ほど遅刻した。まあカウントされてないからいいけど。
大学の授業の履修は沢山ある中から一部の必修を除いてほとんど自分で選ぶものかと思っていたが違った。
8割9割方すでに一人一人決められていて自由に選ぶのは3つほどしかなかった。
おまけにそのうちの1つはマークシートに第一希望から第三希望までかかせて、
『学内にあるスーパーコンピューターを用い、本学が開発した学生全体の満足度が最高になるように組まれたアルゴリズムにより決定する』という。
おもしろおかしく書いているようにみえるだろうが本当に配られたプリントにこう書いてあるのだ。
理工系単科大学ということで無駄に格好つけているとしか思えない。中学生並だ。
私の場合1年文型基礎、2年文型基礎、理工系基礎の一部、総合科目Aの4つからそれぞれ一つずつ選ぶ事になった。
本来は2年文型基礎は1年である私には推奨されていないがとれるものはとってしまえということになった。
1年文型基礎は科学概論、2年文型基礎は数理社会学、理工系基礎は宇宙地球科学。
総合科目Aはお察しの通りスーパーコンピューター様の結果待ち。
それにしても講義名がどれもいかつくて格好いいね。
1年ではとれないが原子核工学概論というおっかないものまである。
ちなみに一週間をしめくくる金曜最終コマの講義は環境安全論というものなのだが、
入学式やその後のガイダンスなどでしきりに「環境安全論はとりましょう」と言っていたのでてっきり必修かと思っていた。
